Who is responsible

This website, engiloop.com, is run by Himanshu Amdavadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, who decides how your personal information is used. For any privacy question or request, email admin@engiloop.com. This is also the contact for questions and grievances under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Information we collect

When you browse the site

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These server logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are kept only for as long as they are needed for that.

Cookies

EngiLoop itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics use cookies and similar technologies, as described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Search and calculators

Site search and all calculators run entirely in your browser. What you type into a calculator is not sent to us. When you use the search page, your query appears in the page address, so it may be included in the server logs described above.

When you email us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Sharing buttons and external links

The share buttons on articles are plain links. Nothing is sent to a social network unless you click one, at which point that service’s own privacy policy applies. The same is true of links to other websites and sources.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed and for how long, how visitors arrived, their device and browser type, and their approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics uses cookies, such as _ga, to tell visits apart. It does not log or store IP addresses, and we never send your name, email address or anything else that directly identifies you to Google Analytics. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.

To learn more, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services . You can stop Google Analytics from recording your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay switched off until you make a choice. Without your consent, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored.

Purchases

Online checkout is not open yet. When it opens, payments will be handled by a specialist payment provider, and this policy will be updated to name it and explain what it collects before any purchase is possible.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct, update or delete it. Email us from the address you want us to look up, and we will reply within 30 days, and in any case within the time the law allows.

  • India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): you can request a summary of your personal data and how it is processed, ask for it to be corrected, completed, updated or erased, withdraw any consent you have given, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance with us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
  • UK and EU (UK GDPR and EU GDPR): we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, on our legitimate interest in running a secure website for server logs, and on your consent or our legitimate interest to answer your emails. You can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority.
  • United States: we do not sell personal information for money.

Where your information is processed

EngiLoop is run from India. Google and our hosting provider may process information in other countries, including the United States. Google states that it protects such transfers with safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Children

EngiLoop is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (under 18 in India, under 13 in the US, or the relevant age where you live). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we keep the personal information we hold to a minimum.

Changes to this policy

If we add new features that use personal information, such as a newsletter or online payments, we will update this policy before they go live and change the date at the top of this page.
