  • Checks whether an existing home electrical service has room for new loads
  • First release: adding an EV charger to an existing detached home in British Columbia
  • Based on the Canadian Electrical Code, 26th edition (CSA C22.1:24)
  • Android first, with a web version planned

Adding an EV charger, a heat pump, solar panels or a home battery raises the same first question: can the existing electrical service handle it? PanelReady is being built to answer that question in a structured, code-based way for homeowners and electricians in the United States and Canada.

The first release is deliberately focused. It covers existing detached homes in British Columbia adding an EV charger, calculated under the Canadian Electrical Code, 26th edition (CSA C22.1:24). Additional loads and regions will follow.

Planned capabilities

  • A guided check of the home’s existing electrical load and service capacity
  • Clear results showing whether an EV charger fits as-is or needs load management or an upgrade
  • Future support for heat pumps, solar, batteries and service upgrades

Note

PanelReady will support planning. Installation work must still be designed and carried out by a qualified electrician under the rules in your area.

Availability

PanelReady is in development for Android. A store link will appear here when it launches.
